Using a freemium product is built on the principle that:
“When the supply of a product increases, the demand for its complementary products increases.”
Thus it is in your interest to have your free product spread as widely as possible. One of the best points of marketing via social media is: If you have something worth sharing, people will share it.
Since these two concepts are mutually beneficial, it looks like a marriage made in heaven.
I could go on for a long time about why social media and freemium is a perfect match. (I might do so in the near future)
But people don’t come to you just because you have something good. Build it and they won’t come!
