The Authors is a new online film distributor that uses freemium. The company will distribute important auteur-driven films through online streaming.
According to the founders, they will function on a freemium business model.
Most of the catalogue films will be offered for free. The Auteurs will then offer paid-for premium content and generate revenue from advertising.
This company recently launched the beta version of its service, and I will follow up with more information as this company and the service gets going.
