Best Practise of Freemium

It is pretty evident that I think the freemium model is very interesting. Looking into this model and its possibilities, and figuring out what sort of businesses could benefit from it and in what situation, excites and motivates me. Exploring this area, the biggest source of inspirations are companies that have actually used it. By looking into these cases, we can learn more about what works and what does not.

A great example of this is Paolo Coelo, the bestselling writer. He releases free eBook versions of his books and has seen a significant increase in revenue.

On the wiki I have compiled a small case study of this example. (I will write a blog post on this example in more detail later on.)

Along with this example, the wiki contains cases from a lot of other companies that are working with the freemium model or variations of it.
The idea is that over time, this initial list will grow to a database of best practices. I hope you will help me in making this a resource for people interested in this area. You can either contribute directly on the wiki or give me a heads up when you see something interesting.
